Rohit did justice to his talent –
Speaking to India TV, Rohit Sharma’s childhood coach Dinesh Lad said, ‘The 12-year-old boy I saw today is very happy to see the World Cup in his hands. Earlier he used to bowl off-spin but when I saw his batting, I started encouraging him to bat. Rohit Sharma has always had talent, he has done justice to his talent.’
Rohit was not selected for the 2011 World Cup –
Dinesh Lad added, ‘When Rohit Sharma was not selected in the 2011 World Cup squad, it was a shock for him. Then I told him that if you don’t give time to cricket, everyone will forget you. Then Rohit had promised that he would not give you a chance to complain again sir. From that day till today, Rohit’s graph is continuously increasing.’
If you have talent, you will surely succeed –
Rohit Sharma’s childhood coach added, ‘Being from a poor family doesn’t matter, Rohit proved that if you have talent, you will definitely succeed. He achieved this success by working tirelessly. I have said every time to play well and bring glory to the country. Rohit’s retirement is a good decision. New players should get a chance. The World Test Championship is his next target.’
Four children including Rohit had eaten 65 eggs –
Speaking further about Rohit Sharma, Dinesh Lad shared an interesting anecdote. He said, ‘Rohit came to my house after winning the T20 World Cup for the first time in 2007. At that time non-veg was not made at Rohit’s house. So he came to my house and said, Sir I want to eat eggs. At that time, a total of four children including Rohit had eaten 65 eggs. This time I will bring 100 eggs and keep them at my house, let’s see how many eggs Rohit eats.’
