Nirmala Sitharaman: After Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi strongly criticized the budget. He also showed a photo of Finance Minister Sitharaman making a move and said that there was no backward group official in it. Today, Sitharaman replied. Sitharaman alleged that it is a big conspiracy to try to divide the society by asking how many SC, ST and OBC officials were among the officials preparing the budget.
On Monday, Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi while speaking on the budget in the Lok Sabha likened it to the labyrinth in the Mahabharata. He said that this is the cycle of Modi’s third tenure. He showed a photo of the Halwa ceremony before the presentation of the budget. “This photo shows the halwa being distributed before the budget. But there is not a single officer from the OBC, Dalit or tribal community among the eating officers. All India’s halwa was shared by only 20 people”, alleged Rahul Gandhi.
When Rahul Gandhi made this allegation in the Lok Sabha, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was sitting in the House. Hearing Rahul Gandhi’s statement, he couldn’t stop laughing and slapped his hand on his head. Nirmala Sitharaman further said that neither Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru nor Rajiv Gandhi were against reservation. Also how many SC/ST people were there as trustees of Rajiv Gandhi Foundation and Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust? Nirmala Sitharaman also raised such a question.
