Olympics in India: India’s Manu Bhaker recently made history by becoming the first Indian woman to win a medal in shooting at the Paris Olympics. Moreover, due to the performance of Manu Bhaker, India’s medal account was also opened in the Paris Olympics. But on the one hand, Olympics are being discussed for Indians because of this reason, on the other hand, the discussion of Olympics is being seen among the political leaders due to the claims and counter-claims between Nita Ambani and Karti Chidambaram. On a wish expressed by Nita Ambani two days ago, Karti Chidambaram has commented that there is a big crisis.
What did Nita Ambani say?
Nita Ambani is a member of International Olympic Committee i.e. IOC. His statement at the inauguration of India House in Paris on the occasion of Paris Olympics has become a topic of discussion. “The day is not far when India will host the Olympics. On the day of the inauguration of India House, let us all take this resolution”, said Nita Ambani on this occasion. (Olympics in India)
“Today we gather to take the first step towards realizing the dream of the future at the Paris Olympic Games 2024. The dream that 140 crore Indians have seen. That dream is to organize Olympics in India. Every country sometimes comes to a critical juncture where it can change the course of history. India has now reached that stage. Now is the time that the flame which was first lit in Athens (inauguration of the first Olympics), should illuminate the ancient land of India with that flame”, Nita Ambani also mentioned on this occasion.
Karti Chidambaram’s post on social media
This video of Nita Ambani was posted by ANI on X and Congress MP Karti Chidambaram has written a reaction post regarding it. “Hosting the Olympics in India as a country would be a huge challenge. For the Olympics we have to invest a lot of money to build things that will be of no use after the Olympics. Moreover, due to the financial stress, we will incur huge debt”, Karti Chidambaram said in the post.
“Rather than hosting the Olympics in India, we should focus on providing all possible support and resources to our athletes to train, travel and compete. It should start with producing future medal winners from India”, advised Chidambaram.
Manu Bhaker’s record medal!
India’s Manu Bhaker has made a strong start to India’s medal journey by winning a bronze medal in the 10m air pistol event at the Paris Olympics. This performance made Manu Bhaker the first Indian woman shooter to win a medal in the Olympics in shooting. Apart from that, earlier only four Indians have won a medal in this category.
