What did the center say in the affidavit?
IIT Madras has been requested to investigate the people involved in these irregularities through data analysis. Data analysis of those with higher scores did not reveal major irregularities. Because as soon as the graph goes up, it goes down. It has been decided to conduct NEET counseling in the third week of July as a precautionary measure along with the examination. Counseling will be done in four stages, so that any student taking advantage of any kind will be identified and investigated in these four stages. Central government is not in favor of re-examination of NEET. Because, the center has informed the court in its affidavit that the burden of re-examination will fall on 23 lakh candidates.
What causes the inflation of scores?
The Center has also told the Supreme Court that there was no malpractice or any irregularity in the NEET examination. According to an IIT Madras study, there has been an overall increase in marks scored by students. Especially between 550 and 720 points is the increase. This increase in scores has been observed in almost all cities and centres. This is because of 25 percent reduction in curriculum.
