Who is Manu Bhaker?
Manu Bhaker is a resident of Goria village in Jhajjar district of Haryana. Manu won two gold medals for India in the 2018 ISSF World Cup. She remains the youngest Indian woman shooter to win a gold medal in this event. At the age of 16, Manu won two gold medals for India at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. A malfunction in her pistol prevented her from winning a medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Manu has won more than 50 international and 70 national medals. She finished seventh in the 2021 Olympics. In 2023, Manu won the gold medal in the Asian Games. She is the only player in the 22-member Indian shooting team to compete in multiple individual events at the Paris Olympics. Born in Jhajjar, Haryana, Manu Bhakar participated in several sports during his school life, including tennis, skating and boxing. Manu injured his eye while playing boxing. After this, her journey in boxing ended. At the same time, Manu was also fond of other different sports, which led her to become an excellent shooter. Now she has won a medal for the country.
