Ranchi News: Production to Begin Soon at the First Unit of Patratu Power Plant
The first unit of the Patratu Power Plant, located in Ranchi, will soon begin production. To improve the management of the ash produced by the unit, the Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (PVUNL) hosted its first Ash User Meet on Friday, focusing on innovations and sustainable uses of fly ash.
The event was attended by Arva Rajkamal, Secretary of the Building Construction Department, and NL Yeotkar, Regional Officer of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). Both highlighted the affordable and multi-purpose reuse of fly ash, mentioning that two crore metric tons of fly ash were used in the construction of 720 km of highways under NHAI projects in Jharkhand.
Commitment to 100% Environmentally Friendly Ash Utilization
PVUNL CEO RK Singh reiterated the organization’s commitment to the 100% environmentally friendly use of fly ash. The session focused on optimizing the use of ash, with a primary focus on establishing automated fly ash brick and bagging plants, which would help in revenue generation and infrastructure development. An exhibition of fly ash-based products, “Vikalp,” was also showcased at the event.
Additionally, sessions were organized for students from Birsa Agricultural University and farmers, discussing the use of fly ash in agriculture. RK Singh called upon all stakeholders to collaborate in maximizing ash utilization and promoting sustainability.
