Rahul Gandhi Demands Caste census Anurag Thakur Strong Reply : During the rainy session of Parliament today (July 30) there was a big fight between the ruling party and the opposition in the Lok Sabha. It was seen that opposition leader Rahul Gandhi and minister Anurag Thakur clashed over caste-wise census. Meanwhile, SP leader and MP Akhilesh Yadav jumped into the fray in support of Rahul Gandhi and attacked Thakur. Anurag Thakur read out a list of past Congress Prime Ministers and the scandals during their tenure while the Budget Bill was being debated in the Lok Sabha. He then said, “Now tell me who got the move? Some people only talk about OBCs. But for them (Congress) OBC means Only for Brother in Law Commission. At the same time, those whose caste is not known to anyone, they do census according to caste. I have not named anyone. But everyone has seen who stood up to answer.”
Thakur said, “He has no legs. It is riding on the shoulders of the Congress party. Madari has a monkey on his shoulder just like Congress has a lie on his shoulder. Rahul Gandhi has a knot on his shoulders.” The Speaker of the Lok Sabha then allowed Rahul Gandhi to reply to Anurag Thakur.
Rahul Gandhi said, “Anurag Thakur abused me. insulted me But, I don’t want an apology from them.” At this time, Jagdambika Pal was sitting on the chairman’s chair. Responding to Anurag Thakur’s criticism, Rahul Gandhi said, “Speaker, whoever raises the issue of Dalits in this House has to listen to abuse. I will gladly accept these insults. To give an example in Mahabharata, Arjuna could only see the eye of a fish. Now we are also focused on the same thing. Our demand is that the census should be done according to caste and we will make the government to do this census. No matter how much abuse I have to endure for that. Anurag Thakur has abused me, but I do not expect an apology from him.”
It is wrong to divide MP’s caste in the House: Akhilesh Yadav
As soon as Rahul Gandhi started speaking, the ruling MPs started creating chaos. After that Speaker Jagdambika Pal appealed to everyone for peace. At the same time Akhilesh Yadav stood up. He said, “Is anyone’s caste asked in the assembly hall? How can a member ask another member about his caste?” Jagdambika Pal then said, “No member can ask anyone’s caste in the House.”
