BJP MP Kangana Ranaut had called for the re-implementation of the three controversial agriculture laws that the central government had previously withdrawn, sparking political debate once again. Following the backlash, Kangana Ranaut has since apologized for her statement. This development led to Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Rahul Gandhi addressed the issue through a video on social media platform X.
What Did Rahul Gandhi Say?
“Who truly decides government policy? A BJP MP or PM Modi? Even after the deaths of over 700 farmers in Punjab and Haryana, the BJP is still not satisfied,” said Rahul Gandhi. He further declared, “The INDIA alliance will not allow any BJP conspiracy against the country’s food providers to succeed. If any move is made to harm farmers, Narendra Modi will once again have to apologize.”
“INDIA Alliance Will Stand United Against Modi”
Rahul Gandhi also pointed out that BJP often tests public reaction by floating new ideas. “This is what happened with the statement on the Agriculture Laws. A BJP MP proposed the reintroduction of the laws, and now PM Modi should clarify his position. If the Prime Minister attempts to reintroduce these laws, INDIA will stand united against him,” warned Gandhi.
What Did Kangana Ranaut Say in Her Apology?
Kangana Ranaut explained, “The media had been questioning me about the Agriculture Laws, and I had suggested that farmers should appeal to PM Modi to bring back the laws. However, many were upset by my remarks. When the laws were introduced, many supported them, but they were later withdrawn by PM Modi with great empathy. It is now the duty of all party workers, including me, to respect the words of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I must also recognize that I am no longer just an artist, but a BJP worker, and my opinions should align with the party’s stance. I apologize if my statement offended anyone and I retract my words.”
