If he weren’t the captain, he wouldn’t be in the playing XI. A fixed team would have seen KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal opening, with Shubman Gill also in the lineup. Realistically, given his poor form, Rohit would not have been playing, but India needs to win the next match to tie the series. That’s why he is in the team.”

Irfan Pathan further added:
“Rohit’s form is very poor. Even before this series, he was struggling to score runs, and the problem has persisted.
