State Bureau, Ranchi: The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) will conduct the Summative Assessment-I (Half-Yearly) exams for the state’s 80 Excellence Schools (CM Schools of Excellence) and 325 Block-level Model Schools.
The School Education and Literacy Department has issued instructions to the council regarding these exams, which will be held in the first week of September. Exams to Be Held at the School Level
Similarly, the Summative Assessment exams, scheduled for February-March, will also be conducted by JAC. In regular schools, these exams will be conducted at the school level, as before.
The Summative Assessment exams in all government schools are conducted under the Right to Education Act, 2009, free of charge and mandatory.
Regular government schools conduct these exams at their own level; however, the question papers are prepared by the Jharkhand Council of Educational Research and Training and sent to the schools.
JAC Entrusted with the Responsibility of Exams to Ensure Quality
The state government has entrusted JAC with the responsibility of conducting the Summative Assessment exams in the Excellence and Model Schools established under its ambitious plan to ensure quality education.
It should be noted that all 80 Excellence Schools are affiliated with CBSE, while the 325 Block-level Model Schools are affiliated with the Jharkhand Academic Council.
