Joint Pain: Many people experience joint pain problems during rainy days. Ayurveda physician Dr. Manisha Mishra said that these aches and pains are caused by an imbalance in the amount of vata or air in the body; But there is nothing to worry about. Because- there are two solutions for it; Which can help with this pain. One of the remedies is dry ginger powder tea. It is a drink that helps reduce vata. For this, “boil dry ginger powder in water and drink the drink twice a day in the morning and evening.”
Dr. Another remedy suggested by Mishra is to apply castor oil on the affected part of the body. It cures joint pain and allows you to walk properly.
What causes pain in rainy season?
During the monsoons, the weather is cold. “This period, known as Visarga Kaal in Ayurveda, is when the Earth moves away from the Sun and the influence of the Moon increases, thereby cooling the atmosphere. The rainy season is associated with Vata and Kapha doshas; which grows during this period. Kapha dosha, which represents the elements of water and earth, also increases during this period,” said classical hatha yoga teacher and lifestyle expert Shloka.
Cold, damp and changing weather conditions aggravate Vata Dosha and cause instability in the body. “This imbalance leads to loss of moisture in the joints and causes friction, inflammation, joint pain, muscle pain and stiffness,” said Shloka.
The heavy, wet weather of monsoons aggravates kapha dosha. “Excess Kapha causes fluid to build up in the joints. This causes inflammation and swelling and causes problems such as rheumatism, arthritis and tendinitis.
Experts say, “Cold, damp weather weakens the digestive fire. Due to this, digestion is not done properly and toxins accumulate in the body. Accumulation of common toxins in the body due to poor digestion causes inflammation and pain in various parts of the body.
Will these measures be beneficial?
Dr. Shloka, agreeing with the remedies suggested by Mishra, said applying castor oil packs (clean cloth soaked in warm castor oil) on the affected area can help. Apply this for 30-45 minutes 1-2 times a day to reduce swelling and increase blood circulation.”
