State Bureau, Ranchi: The Election Commission has suspended IPS officer Kishan Sahay Meena, who was deployed as a police observer in Gumla. The Rajasthan cadre IPS officer is accused of returning to Rajasthan from duty without permission during the assembly elections. He did not seek permission from the Election Commission to leave his duty. This action was taken by the Commission on the complaint of the District Election Officer. Meena is a 2004-batch police officer.
In his place, the Commission has appointed Rathore Kirit Kumar Haribhai as the police observer in Gumla. Rathore is a 2010-batch police officer from the Uttar Pradesh cadre. This is the first case where the Commission has taken action against an observer in this assembly election.
Chief and Additional Chief Election Officers Cast Their Votes Chief Election Officer K. Ravi Kumar, Additional Chief Election Officers Sandeep Singh, and Dr. Neha Arora also cast their votes at their respective polling stations on Wednesday. The Chief Election Officer voted at Booth No. 374, located in Government Model High School, Doranda, with his wife, R. Jagtha. On this occasion, he appealed to urban voters, urging them to exercise their right to vote, describing it not only as a right but also as a duty towards democracy.
Additionally, Additional Chief Election Officer Sandeep Singh voted at Booth No. 339 at Nehru Cultural Center, Jawahar Nagar, under the Kanke constituency. Similarly, Additional Chief Election Officer Neha Arora cast her vote at Booth No. 49 at the Tehsil Court on Ratu Road, Ranchi. These officials also encouraged voters to participate in this celebration of democracy.
Governor Casts Vote at ATI Booth Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar cast his vote on Wednesday at the polling center located at Shri Krishna Institute of Public Administration (ATI) at 7:30 a.m. On this occasion, he extended heartfelt wishes to the people of the state for this grand festival of democracy. He also urged all voters to participate actively in this festival and exercise their right to vote, saying that voting is a duty of all responsible citizens.
