According to a report by Sacknilk, Netflix has acquired the digital rights for Pushpa 2 for a staggering ₹275 crore. Therefore, the film will be available for streaming on Netflix. However, the makers have yet to make an official announcement regarding this.
Pushpa 2 Surpasses Pathaan and Tiger 3 OTT Deals
For comparison, Amazon Prime Video bought the OTT rights for Tiger 3 for around ₹200 crore, while Pathaan‘s OTT rights were acquired for ₹100 crore. The OTT rights for Pushpa 2 have been sold for double the price of these films, making it the highest-priced OTT deal for an Indian film, surpassing even Pathaan and Tiger 3 before its theatrical release.
Sale of Television Rights
In addition to the OTT rights, the television rights for Pushpa 2 have also been sold. According to a report by India Today, Jayantilal Gada of Penn Studios revealed that the film’s worldwide television rights were purchased by Penn Studios.
Pushpa 1’s Success
The first part of Pushpa, released in 2021, became a massive hit, earning immense love from the audience. Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the film broke several box office records. Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa starred Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil in pivotal roles. Sukumar will also direct Pushpa 2.
Pushpa 2 Release Date and Pre-Booking
Pushpa 2 is set to release in theaters on December 5, 2024. Interestingly, its pre-booking has already started in the USA. Fans can look forward to an exciting clash between Fahadh Faasil and Allu Arjun in this sequel.
