Suicide Bomb Blast in Pakistan
A massive bomb blast occurred in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Friday afternoon during prayers. At least three people were killed, and 20 others were seriously injured. The explosion took place in a mosque in the Nowshera area, where a large number of people had gathered for prayers. The blast happened at the same time, and initial reports suggest that a suicide bomber carried out the attack. The death toll is expected to rise further, as several patients undergoing treatment are in critical condition.
According to available information, rescue teams arrived at the scene immediately after the blast. The local police administration cordoned off the area around the mosque. Rescue team chief Bilal Faizi confirmed that at least 20 civilians sustained serious injuries. The explosion occurred while prayers were being offered in the main hall of the mosque. In response to the incident, the local administration has imposed a curfew in the Nowshera area.
Initial investigations indicate that it was a suicide attack, and a detailed inquiry is underway, according to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Chief Zulfiqar Hamid.
Connection to Benazir Bhutto Assassination Case
The madrasa, where the blast took place, was founded by Muslim scholar Maulana Abdul Haq Haqqani in September 1947. Three students from this madrasa were charged in connection with the assassination of former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. However, the madrasa administration has consistently denied these allegations, calling them false.
