Jati, Jamshedpur: Six radial gates of Chandil Dam will be opened on Sunday, releasing 3500 cusecs of water. Executive Engineer Sanjay Kumar of Chandil Dam informed that continuous rainfall has filled the dam to capacity.
Water May Enter Coastal Areas
To manage this, six radial gates will open at 8 am on Sunday, releasing 3500 cusecs of water. Kumar stated that by 11 am, water might enter the coastal areas of Jamshedpur city. Therefore, the general public is urged to remain fully alert. If the rainfall continues, the situation may worsen, so coastal area residents should move to safer locations.
Eleven Gates of Mandira Dam Opened
Due to continuous rainfall, eleven gates of Mandira Dam were opened at 2:30 pm on Saturday. Water was released by opening five gates to 4 feet and six gates to 2 feet. The dam’s water level was recorded at 682.60 feet. The opening of the gates has increased the water level and flow of the already swollen Brahmani River.
