Palamu, June 22. Due to the investigation of the Anti Corruption Bureau, 17 roads in the Naxal-affected areas of Palamu have been incomplete for the last decade. Due to the lack of construction of roads, it has become a problem for the villagers. All these roads connect more than 140 villages. Patan has the highest number of roads (9), followed by Chhatarpur and Chainpur (3 each) and 2 roads in Vishrampur block area.
Construction work of 17 roads was going on under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. Irregularities were detected in the construction of the road and payment was made for construction work in excess of the cost. In 2014, 11 separate FIRs were registered in Patan, Chhatarpur, Bishrampur and Chainpur police stations of Palamu in the case. Later, the government recommended all the FIRs for ACB investigation in 2017. In 2017, the ACB took over all the 11 FIRs and started investigation.
Money Alloted for Palamu Road
In Palamu, Kanke to Sutha Road of Patan was paid Rs 1.19 crore, Brahmaoria to Nawadih Road Rs 4.61 crore, Biti Road to Kawal Rs 74.46 lakh, Chhatarpur TOP to Dagra Road Rs 3.75 crore, Patan Padwa Road Rs 1.10 crore, Mayapur Nawadih Road Rs 77.31 lakh, Birja to Jamdih Rs 46.83 lakh, Godarma to Nawagarh Rs 53 lakh, Ramgarh to Dinabar Rs 3.39 crore, Baraon to Odnar Rs 42.83 lakh, Biti Road Gamhariya Rs 9.12 lakh more than the cost. Apart from this, irregularities were detected in Sikki Kala to Sikki Khurd, Gaharpathra Road Naya, Mahulia Road, Pakri Rajhara Road, Manahar to Majhiav Road.
Palamu MP Vishnu Dayal Ram has written a letter to the state’s Chief Secretary in the entire matter. Through this letter, Palamu MP Vishnu Dayal Ram has urged to continue the investigation against the culprits as well as issue no objection certificate.
